While Markus has been trying to observe and analyze everything around him, he missed recognition of the woman behind the counter entirely. Perhaps it is a sign that he is more overwhelmed than he would like to admit, but when she says his name, he focuses entirely on her. Everyone knows who Chloe was, the first android who passed the Turing test. Anyone with an interest in androids, and obviously his greatest interest is in androids, knows her. The surprise shows and he takes in every detail he can see in her now, curious.

"Chloe." Markus isn't surprised she knows him on sight, all things considered, but his sharp interest turns into genuine warmth. Seeing one of their kind is the very thing best suited for calming him. Now he has a purpose again. Chloe. The two of them getting through this.

"Physically I am alright," he assures her. Any superficial injuries he had during the protest are just that. Who is playing them at the moment?
