"New York? Really?" To her, that is exotic. She's fairly certain that she would hate New York, but she cannot say for certain because she's never been there. But she loves the trees and nature too much to imagine liking the 'concrete jungle'.
"Washington state. Near Oregon. My farm is on several hundred acres of woodland that's been in my father's family since before records were kept." It's still strange to think of it as just hers.
"That's what worries me about being away. I'm the last one of my family, so if I'm not there... I don't know what will happen, but it probably won't be good. Our trees are special, they need protected."
